Summer Reading is an important part of the curriculum of St. Benilde School.  The reading list
for Kindergarten through 7th grade are made of Accelerated Reader titles for which we have
quizzes.  The required Summer Reading is two (2) books from the above list.  Our Scholastic
Book Fair, which will be held March 3rd thru 7th, will try to provide as many titles as possible
from this list for you to purchase.  If you choose a book which is not available, you may check
it out at the Public Library or purchase it at a Book Store.  Students will be required to take a
quiz for each book he/she reads.  They should not choose one which they already read and for
which they have already taken a quiz, because the computer will not allow them to take the
quiz again.  Quizzes may be taken when they return to school, or on the following dates--June
11th and 25th, July 9th and 23rd from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.
A biography of a Saint will also be required during the summer.  We will have some of these
books at the fair.  Please include 8.75% sales tax to the total of your order.  Checks should be
made payable to St. Benilde School.
PLEASE TURN TO THE BACK OF THIS PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE SAINT BIOGRAPHY
